Waiting for Money to Come in.

I'm just waiting for some money to come in so I can to Colorado and California to prospect for gold.
My crypto mining operation isn't working very well. I got the new graphics card but it doesn't work well with any of my computers. I think the memory and such is just too slow.
As it is, I'm making about $1.00/day with my operation. That's probably as good as it gets without spending much money on new computers and such.
On other news. My coin sold and I'll have about $7,000 from it's sale.
I'll be using the money to finance my prospecting trip. I plan on starting an "LLC" company so if I go bust again at least it will be the business that's bankrupt and not me.
That's a mistake I made in 2015. I went heavily in debt because of the trip to California.
I'm going to do things differently, this time. I'll be living out of my van instead of living in motels and apartments.
Before I go West I'll try to find gold near here.
I intend to keep my expenses down; I should do better.
We'll see.

I Need a Goal

I was reading something that was talking about how goals animate people it made me think about how goal-less I am.
I kept busy for a while, starting my crypto mining operation, but now that it's going, I don't have anything to occupy my time.
The mining farm isn't really making much money but it's going to take some real money to improve it.
It'll have to wait until after I get my money from the sale of the rare coin. That'll be after May 11th.
I bought a graphics card that should improve my mining when I thought I had money coming from the sale of the coin right away. Now, I'm wondering how I will meet my bills for this month.
I'm hoping for more snow this weekend. I'm afraid it's too late in the season for me to make much more money shoveling snow but anything will be appreciated.
Everything is on hold until I get that check.
I'm hoping to visit the East Coast and tour some Civil War battlefields.
After that, I'll go west and pan gold for a while.
Before going to California, I'm going to try to find gold around here. I'll be going to a small town named Eldorado and see if I can find rocks with gold in the and then crush the rocks to pan them out.
I doubt if I'll find much but it would be better than running all over the country to search for gold.
Maybe I'll get back to you.

I haven't been posting much so my numbers are down.

I simply haven't had much to say lately so I haven't posted much. Because of that my numbers of viewers is down as well.
I need to get off of my butt and post more often.
My expensive coin sold in Baltimore but I haven't been paid yet.
I was a bit disappointed at the price and the auction company took a lot more money than I expected but at least I'll be able to pay my bills.
I'm going to use the money to buy gold at a company named "Gold Money". I'll be able to keep it in several different vaults around the world and transfer the value to a debit card; so I'll have access to my money without having to keep it in dollars.
I'm too leary  of cryptocurrencies to buy any now. They are being manipulated by the futures traders. I'll get back into that market, later.
My crypto mining is proceeding but the declining prices in the currencies is hurting me. I'm mainly in a currency named Monero. It's big on privacy. It's also easy to mine.
I gave away one of my laptops and one broke so I'm down to 2 laptops and 6 desktops. Two of my desktops are 32 bit machines instead of 64 bit; and I haven't been able to get the 32 bit machines working with my mining software.
I did get some of my desktops working with GPU mining software.
I was disappointed with my GPUs. They are just too old and slow to be any better than the CPUs.
Newer GPUs cost at least $50 apiece.
I'm waiting for my Social Security check or payment for the expensive coin to arrive before I spend anything on Ebay.
I might just scrap my 32 bit machines and see if I can pick up some 64 bit machines at the recycling place in a small town named Freeport (that I used to live at).
Most of the machines I have now are just to old and slow to use for mining crypto.
There's a lot going on in the news, lately.
Apparently the pedos are being exposed and the "Deep State" is under attack.
I hope they all go to jail.
I'm concerned about the currency but it seems to hold together much better than I thought possible.
All I can do about the currency is to buy more freeze dried food and try to get a trailer and homestead together.
I decided to get a cargo trailer to live in while I pan for gold and set up a homestead. It's cheaper than a camper-trailer and I can modify it any way I want.
I think I'll run by "Campsite RVs" and look at some today. It would be a good use of my time.

Working on miners and spinning my wheels

I've been busy working on my crypto miners. I've got 10 machines and I'm not getting much return in crypto.
I haven't been able to get any GPU mining working with my cards, software, and computers. I'm doing everything as cheaply as possible and it's not working.
I have been able to get every machine I have working but they are too old and my graphics cards are to old to really do anything with; but Ill keep trying.
Tonight, I'm taking a hard drive out of one of my more useless machines and putting it into my most hopeful machine. I almost had it working with one of my minergate software.
I hope that I'll be able to get it going with the latest graphics card drivers and maybe some older mining software. I'll just keep playing around with this stuff until I get something to work.
On a different topic, the auction for the rare coin that my brother gave me is this week. I'm really anxious about it.
It'll sell about 6:30 this Thursday night. I'll be watching it at Java Johns. Brian said that if I get a lot of money I'll have to buy him a latte. I hope I'm so rich that I'll buy him a bagel as well. He's getting a little skinny so it will be good to get him some food.
It's dinner time, I'm sorry I haven't posted anything lately.

Snow Day

I made some money, shoveling snow today. It didn't really snow that much but it kept at it; so at one of my places I had to shovel twice.
I figure I made about $70. Which was much needed.
I'm still working on my crypto mining farm. I've gotten 8 machines mining with their CPUs.
It would be better to use graphics cards but I'm just not that far advanced, yet. Every time I plug an additional graphics card in my monitor goes blank. I guess the new card takes over the image and it disables the on-board graphics.
I ordered an adapter for the video from China. I hope it gets here soon.
I'll also have to have appropriate software for mining. I can download something for Linux for free and I'll do that next week. I suspect that I'll need some sort of wiring adapters as well. We'll see.
I was surprised to see that people are using laptops for graphics card mining. It'll cost $100 or so to make that work but it should be worth it.
I just hope I don't end up getting into trouble for using too much electricity. My electricity is included as part of the rent and I don't want to mess with that.
By the way, I'm on Steemit, now. In my first two postings I've made over $2.00. It's taken me 5 or 6 years to make $10 on Blogger. And I have to wait until I have over $100 here to actually withdraw it.
I think I'll just transfer to Steemit and I like the idea of getting paid in crypto currency, as well.
The only machine I haven't been able to get to work says that it's limiting the memory to 256 meg. Nick said that maybe the machine is so old that it can only use 256 meg.
I don't know. I think I may simply have the wrong ram modules in it.
I can't tell much about this machine. I think it was assembled at a local computer shop. Maybe the motherboard ill have a name on it. That would help. If I can tell which motherboard it is, I should be  able to find out what kind of ram it takes. I'll do that tomorrow. It's late now so I think I'll call it a day.

My Mining Farm

I'm setting up a mining operation for mining Monero. That's a crypto currency that stresses privacy.
I've got 4 laptops mining now. They're too slow to really make much money; so I bought some old desktops that I can add graphics card to.
Right now I'm waiting for the cards and memory modules from Ebay. Most of the parts are coming from Asia so it will be a while before I can really get things rolling. I hope I can get them producing at a much better rate than it's going now. It's taking me several months to get $10 worth of coins.
On a similar note, I sent off some money to a guy named Troy who has a YouTube site called "The Do It yourself world". I'm going to share his production on a higher end mining rig. I should be able to make $40/month.
I'm afraid that I've been spending too much time and money on crypto mining and not enough on getting my etchings sold on Ebay. I got one of the etchings back from Tim and I need to take a few pictures and put it up on Ebay.
If anybody wants a nice etching for a man cave you'll be able to find my etching by looking for "Malcolm Childers" on Ebay. The etching I'll be trying to sell is a drawing of an old gold mine.
I can't remember the name of it but my Ebay name is Johnhan752 and I'm from Decorah, Iowa.
I'll put a picture of it here.

If you would like to buy it for crypto, I would sell it for $500 worth of Monero or Lite coin or even Bitcoin although I don't like to sell in Bitcoin because of the transaction cost. I'll pay the shipping in the U.S. Overseas cost a lot more but we could talk about it. Ebay doesn't take crypto yet so if you are interested in buying it for crypto just leave a comment.

A Couple of Things I could do for more Crypto-money.

A couple off things I could do for more money include getting serious about selling my etchings and getting more serious about crypto-mining.
As far as selling my etchings, I need to get them back from the Game Exchange. I had them list them on Ebay for me but they didn't move. I did sell 2 or 3 of the cheaper ones there but I need the money now.
The first thing I'll do is to take one home and list it on Ebay at a much lower price than I've had it there before.
After that I'll take it out of the frame and see if having it framed was slowing down my sales. Another thing I'll do is to stress that I've got a certificate of authenticity. Good prices and a compelling add might move them.
It's not snowing again so I'm not making serious money, shoveling snow, and I need the money for expenses.
Another thing I'll do is to find some old desktop computers to mine crypto currencies with. I'll go to Goodwill and maybe I'll run an add on the internet asking to be given old computers.
My laptops are too slow and it's not worth mining with them. Maybe I could run an add asking to swap old desktop computers for my laptops.
That's all for now.

I Needed an Excuse to not Shovel Snow.

I guess I'll just blog a bit.
Some things are happening.
First, it's starting to snow in a normal pattern for this time of year. Snowfall has been very sparse this year. I need it to snow a lot to make the money I usually make at this time of year.
It's coming and I'm getting rather tired (physically). I'm just grateful that I can take frequent breaks and surf the net a bit. I'm seventy years old so I don't push myself too much.
On other news, I'm mining Monero with desk top computers. I bought a bunch of them from a place called The Game Exchange. I worked with them to sell my etchings on the internet.
That reminds me, I got one of the etchings back and I'm going to market them myself.
The first thing I'll do is to lower the price and if that doesn't work within a week; I'll take it out of the frame. It might be that people would prefer to frame it themselves. And I can ship it cheaper in a shipping tube.
My coffee got cold so I chugged it; maybe it's time to go out and finish the shoveling. It's 7:30; I think I'll finish a couple of places so I don't have to get up at 5:00 and shovel it then. It's a plan.
So long.
Later.

P.S.
I needed to comment on the stock market move in the last couple of days.
I think it's good that the market moved down so much because the money the market is losing seems to be shoring up the dollar. I think a dollar collapse would be terrible; so maybe it's a good thing that this is happening. We'll see.

Should I go back to Trading Options?

Someone asked me today if there were options on Bitcoins.
I did a little research and found that the new futures contracts on Bitcoins offer options as well. I'm  terrified of trading Bitcoins with futures since there is no end to how much you can lose; but options limit the downside risk to simply what you had to put up in the first place.
Of course, I would never write an option but I would only buy one. I like that because, maybe, I could put up a few hundred dollars and make thousands while only risking the few hundred.
I feel that Bitcoins can only go up now and I would only take the long positions.
I might be able to get my old account working in Preston so I might already have a place to trade. We'll see.
I made some progress towards getting my etchings on Ebay. I went to the Game Exchange today. Tim wasn't there because he's trying to help his wife with her cancer. I think they are at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He'll be back on Friday so I'll see him then.
Crypto currencies were fluctuating wildly, today. Overnight they went down by 20% or so. By the end of the day they made up their losses. I just have to hold on for dear life; or HODL as they say in the crypto world. Tonight they are down a bit. I've got to quit watching them so closely.
There was some snow this morning so I made a little money.
I'm watching the price of the dollar, lately. It plummeted today. It's been going down for at least a couple of weeks, now. I'll have to check the charts to see how long it's been going down. The symbol is DXY. I like the charts on CNBC.com.
I think I'll go back to watching my negative YouTube channels.
Later.

Listening to Helen

I'm at Java Johns listening to Helen Johnson sing some of her original songs.
The place is packed but mostly it's her family that's here. I enjoy her music.
Cryptos are up today. But I can't find out how I'm doing.
The Kraken exchange is down for maintenance and I was knocked out of Coinbase today by a power outage. I won't be able to get back on until tomorrow. I know I'm doing well but I don't know how well I'm doing on cryptos today.
I don't think my arbitrage idea will work. I'm having troubles getting on different exchanges and it seems that it takes too long to transfer funds into and out of exchanges. That's probably why most people aren't doing it.
I went to the hypnotist a couple of days ago. It seems that he is more focused on helping me find spiritual direction rather than helping me put myself back into 2010 to remember what I was doing with Bitcoin, then.
When I get my expensive coin sold in March I'll see about hiring a private investigator to help me find my Bitcoins.
Until then I'll just pray for snow and  rising Ethereum prices.
I told Brian about Steemit. It's a combination website and crypto currency. He can rant about Trump and get paid in crypto currency for it. He actually sounded interested. Of course, he's to lazy to do anything about it; but it's worth a try.
Back to listening to Helen.
