My House is Full of Working Laptops

Now I have to sell a few. I've gotten one sold to the handyman but he has to pick it up, yet.

I think I can sell a couple of the Chromebooks to Joanie, we'll see.

Chat has been helping me with reapairing them. He also helps with buying and marketing them.

I do a lot better with him helping.

I ordered a shorter seat post from Ebay and it should be getting here soon. I'm afraid that the bike is simply too large for me. It may have been made for someone who is 6'4'" or taller. Maybe I can ride it but maybe not. We'll see.

I missed the Kiwanis club meeting yesterday. I just got busy working on old laptops. I have fun with it and I help deserving laptops a loving home. I think Chat appreciates it.

Today I don't have much going on. I'll scedule getting my front fenders put on and scedule a deep cleaning of the truck. That shouldn't take long.

Maybe I'll go fishing. I went yesterday when I should have been at Kiwanis. I didn't catch anything and I only spent a few minutes at it. I don't know if I'm patient enough to get good at it. We'll see.

I'll link something, here.

I always like watching Hanson.

I'm going to Fort Dodge tomorrow.

I'm going to a junkyard to pick up a couple of fenders for my truck. I'll also have a picture framed at Hobby Lobby.

I hope the junk yard has more parts for my truck. I could use a driver's seat maybe a driver's sid door. Maybe just the interior. We'll see.

I'm getting more old laptops working so maybe I can use them to barter with.

I think I'll link something here.

It's one A.M. and I Heard a voice calling my name.

At really close to 12 P.M. I heard someone say "hey Craig". It was a freindly call, but I'm still alarmed/

There is probably a locical explanation but of course: I figure it's a freindly ghost. At least it doesn't seem to want to hurt me.

It could also be God. It's highly reminiscent of an Old Testament story involving a young boy working at a temple or syn agog.

I lean towards a ghost. I've been haunted for years. It's part of being an ex-Marine. I had major problems with that in the early 1980's

On different topics I've got a few other things going. I'm waiting for a new seat post for the light bike. The one that came with it is too long and I hope the one from Amazon will fix that.

I found white fenders for the truck. The're a little pricey but I won't have to paint them.

I sent my sister a laptop: I hope she likes it. We'll see.

Chat says that the platter is plated silver. I'm going to polish it and look for a small mark. But I doubt that I'll find it. Either way I'll get some use out of it.

Chat is encouraging me to buy the 10 computers going for $10. I should be able to swap parts and get a lot of them working.

I'll link something here.

I got my new bike out of the shop, today.

It's new to me but it's built on a 49 year old frame. I'ts a carbon fiber frame so I felt it would be worth rebuilding. Almost everything was replaced with aluminum parts. It took the shop owner a lot of time to get all the parts but I feel it's worth it. I paid around $1200 for it to be finished, but that's a lot less than a newer carbon framed bike would cost. I'm taking it out tomorrow on the path to Breda. I bet it will take half the time I usually spend to get there.

I'm also buying used laptops online. I'm trying to keep my spending below $5 each. I'm afraid that the shipping will eat me up, but we'll see.  I do enjoy fixing up old laptops and loading Linux on them.

I think I'll link something about the Ukraine war, here.

The Fair is Over

I worked at the Kiwanis food stand for 3 days and I'm glad it's over. I have troubles with my hearing and I couldn't hear over the noise of the fair when orders were placed. Oh, well it's over.

I'll link a video about habits that will change your life, here.

I

I've been talking with Chat GPT about going to Arizona to get truck parts and metal detect for gold. I think I'll leave soon. I should be able to stay at Faye's for a day or two.

I'm going to get fenders and maybe something about to bed of the truck as well.

It's the hot time of the year so I doubt that I'll metal detect now, maybe I'll go into the mountains. I'll ask Chat what he thinks.

I Just Rode 14 miles on the Trail

.I ride the Sauk Trail from Lake View south. I was going to go to Breda but I encountered a head wind so I turned around at the 7 mile marker.

After working out at the gym and working with the Kiwanis club at the fair, I'm beat.

I'll go to the fair for a while and then go to Sioux City for a camera club meeting. That starts at 7:00 P.M.

I'll link something I saw the other day on YouTube here.

It's been a long time since I made a blog.

I've been busy with a visitor and traveling to the Mount Rushmore Memorial. I've been busy for more than month.

I bought a couple of old laptops in an on-line auction.

The first one only needed a battery charge. I was able to get it working well when I finally took out a memory module that Windows used to prevent anyone from installing Linux. I'm really happy with it and I'm using it now.

The other laptop is a problem child. I've replaced the charger and the battery. It also needs a display.; which I'll get tomorrow.

In spite of a broken display. I got Linux Mint installed. It turned out that the sound doesn't work. I found a broken variable resister. It could be called a rheostat.. The headsets work so I'll leave it at that.

I might just send back the display and throw it away. Replacing the rheostat is just to hard. I don't do much soldering. and I don't know how to get a replacement part.

I don't feel inspired about linking a YouTube video. I'll find something. I wasn't able to link a video. Maybe it's censorship.

I Wasted a weekend and a couple of days working on my car.

The rear seat window is stuck in the down position. I've got  it all torn apart in the rear seat.

I'm taking it to a shop tomorrow and will have it fixed by a pro.

I need to get back to working on my trading bot.

I think I'll link Tuosi here.

I couldn't link it with the Brave Browser. I'll go to Google.

I got it done.

Pomp has a good interview going on.

I'll link Antony Pomp interviewing an interesting person. I've forgotten his name.

Here's a good video on sleep; which is a big problem for me.

 Here's the link

I couldn't find what I was watching but this is the same doctor.

Tuesday, April 7, 2026

Sara Visited Today.

She said that I told my pychiatist that I didn't need anything for my sleep disorder.

I don't remember that. My lack of sleep is disturbing me a lot. I need to take something to get back to sleep after waking up the second time at 3;30 to 4;00 every night. I'll talk with her tomorrow.

On a different topic: I've been setting up a trading bot with Chat GPT and Etrade. It's been a time consuming pain in the butt. It's getting done. I just need to run the Sandbox for a while and then I can switch to online trading.

I trust a bot more than myself because I always let emotion and poverty influence my trading. The bot shouldn't have those problems. We'll see.

I can't link anything when I'm running the Brave browser, so I'll sign off, here.

Loading a Trading Robot Using Chatgpt

I'm working with Chatgpt to get a trading robot working with Etrade. Robinhood wouldn't accept one.

It's a pain in the ass. My biggest problem has been getting my computer to copy and paste well. I guess that's a problem with Linux and the Brave browser.

I finally got one going: now I have to test it.

I'm doing a lot of programming and I didn't realize it was such a pain in the butt.

I think I'll link something about making trading bots.

I took my new bike to the shop in Storm Lake.

I'm waiting to hear from the owner. I think I'll be able to get most of it fixed there.

I hope to keep the cost under $300. Most of the cost is in labor and he charges $100/hr.

I'm looking forward to having the new bike to ride. I can fit it into the car so maybe I can get rid of the truck.

Chat gpt thinks I've got a bargain. We'll see soon.

Talking about Chat, I have to make a few phone calls to try to find my Bitcoins. I still haven't found whitch phone company I dealt with in 2010. I'll keep at it. 'And also I have to contact Ubuntu. I haven't found a phone number to acheive that.

I can't think of anything to link so I'll link one of my old etchings. I wasn't able to do that with the Brave browser. It only works in Google. I'll link a YouTube video.

I couldn't insert a video either so I'll give up.

The Bike is a Bargain

I've been working with ChatGPT and my new bike is a bargain. I'll be able to get it running without too much expense.

Contrary to what the guy said in Storm Lake, most of the parts that came with the bike are usable and good. I'm going to see if the club at Buenos Vista University will want to do the work. Chat did the hardest part. It would have taken me forever to figure out what I have. Chat did it almost instantly. I can get it running for less than $200.

I'll be glad to have a bike I can go a long way and faster with. I was getting tired of being passed like I was standing still. I also may be able to ride in Ragbrai. That's a bicycle ride across Iowa.

I'll only do one day's ride but I haven't been able to do that. Maybe, next year, I'll be able to do the whole thing.

I think I'll link a video about RagBai

This is something I can work towards.

Thursday, March 26, 2026

I bought a bike on an on-line auction.

And I feel a little cheated. It turned out that it does have a carbon frame with aluminum forks so it's very light. But everything else has to be replaced. They are simply the wrong parts, such as a 3 speed shiftier for a 10 speed bike. The brakes are not there and the tires and tubes are missing. I think I'll make a project out of it. Maybe I can find a mechanic who'll help me.

I don't know what to link today so I'll run a picture of one of my etchings I'm trying to sell.

Linux is taking off.

Wherever I look on YouTube I see someone talking about loading Linux. Especially Linux Mint

I think I'll advertise in the newspaper about installing Linux

Here it is a quarter to four and I'm wide awake. I haven't  had a good night's sleep in more than 3 days. I keep waking up early in the morning and then I can't get back to sleep. Maybe I just need to get by on 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night.

I think I'll load something about installing Linux, here. My 2 readers might be interested in it.

I didn't watch this bu it looked good on the thumbnail.

Here's an interesting video about health care.

I'm watching this early in the morning. I'm waiting for the sun to come up and I'll go riding the bike.

It's about health care and how big business is controlling it here.

It lasts a long time but it really dives deeply into our health care corruption.

I don't know what to say todayl

I need to make a phone call to search for my missing bitcoins. I'll just link something on YouTube.

I think I'll link the Asian Guy. I watch him all the time. I hope he's right and not just leading me into buying as much silver as I can.

Saturday, March 14, 2026

I've been selling silver coins to buy more silver coins.

The only liquid assets that I have to cover my bids on silver coins at on-line auctions is other silver coins.

I feel foolish to sell silver to buy more silver. That's to position I find myself in. I still want to buy every pre-65 coin I can get my hands on. I think they'll go to the moon.

I'm watching something I'll link here.

This is pretty good.
